House viewings arranged for Tuesday - Excellent.
So as the weather was still unsettled a walk mid morning was on the agenda. But this time we wanted some excitement - so we decided to refrain from any roads and go down the side of the mountain near the house instead. It wasn't really steep and if you planned it right and zig zag down carefully it was OK, all else fails some olive trees will break your fall until you reached the valley of Arroyo Ancon (Stream Ancon).
The olive trees grew on the side of the mountains and little furrows to assist with drainage and reduce soil erosion. So we slowly and carefully zig zagged our way down. Lead by me and Paul taking up the rear with Aston checking the footings as we go. Excitedly followed by Pablo and Josie darting in and out every now and then.
We reached the Arroyo at the bottom and followed the dirt track. There were lots of different types of Cacti, long tall spindly ones - similar to Aloe Vera, round puffy ones with little red bulb like cacti sprouting of them. Olive trees of course, orange trees covered in unripe fruit and numerous other colourful wild flowers frames our walk way.
It was great looking above and seeing the rolling landscape towering above us. We could hear the occasional tinkle of goat herd bells in the near distance.
We must have been out for about 1 hour and the skies began to get darker and the wind chillier, so we decided to head back. The little dogs saw that we had turned for home and came scampering behind us, with the odd pause to see if the humans were keeping up!
Going up the hill was easier but more tiring - time for lunch me thinks, and a relaxing afternoon reading.
Ethan was eagerly typing up his script for his new play, Aston and Corrine were still squabbling over the swing - AGAIN!!!
Later it was type to organise our route and itinerary for the viewings tomorrow.
STOP PRESS - One last thing, As a belated Mothers Day present before going to bed, Ethan insisted we watching something on his Notebook. I was just full of tears - he had produced - and may I say very professional 4 minute movie, including soundtracks and credits at the end. Watch out Spielberg my boy's fast on your heals! Evening was topped off with Paul putting the kids to bed, whilst I put my feet up with leche caliente y galletas (hot milk and biscuits) aa a a a ah.
Thoughts - Kids are so looking forward to seeing the houses tomorrow, hope they don't get their hopes up, as we may have to see quite a few to find our home - it's not all about a pool!
