Day 1 out of the UK!
Woke to glorious sunshine.
Kids were still excited, thank goodness.
My young gastronomes were looking forward to Breakfast in a Restaurant!
Then a brisk walk around the decks, and it was brisk, and very breezy. We walked all decks inside and out, found the helipad at the rear of the boat, and Paul and the kids decided to run/race 15 laps (I had the wrong shoes on for any sort of exercise). It was great seeing them running with the sun on their faces, trying to beat each other and the wind blasting their cheeks.
Later on a visit to the playground for the kids was due, gotta keep em exercised. Also Paul and I could relax with a nice hot chocolate as they had a comfortable area so parents could supervise the children. Harry, and also Scarlet were there later too - as this wasn't peak time apart from a 4month baby these were the only children on board, and 75% Retirees.
Anyway, Paul and I enjoyed our R&R and gazing out watching the waves twinkling in the sunshine, and trying to spot land! Which was lucky as we spotted a school of dolphins swimming towards the west coast of France, what an amazing site - and of course in true Brit style we shouted for the kids Quick kids look Dolphins!, it's so much nicer seeing them in their natural environment. Well, of course, I stayed glued to that window for the next 30 minutes or so in the hope of another amazing sighting.
Arrived at Santander to an unexpected 21degrees C, and on time - a very enjoyed 24hrs I must say!
Being a bit of a control freak, we planned well and had dinner early on board just before we docked at 17:30 Spanish time. All ready for a blast through Central Spain and our aim was to get past Madrid whilst it was nightime, we just don't do traffic anymore.
12.10 am Mission Accomplished - we were 30 mins south of Madrid and decided just to sleep in the car, and get a good start in the morning, hoping to reach Alora, Malaga Province (where Las Nuevas Holiday Let was). We found a good truck stop and parked up underneath the carports, covered the windows and ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.
