Thursday 21st March 2013

Glorious sunshine and very warm - In fact we got upto 23 degrees today lovely.

Breakfast (desayuno) in the hotel and go to see Marta to view the property.  We were running 5 mins late and was just looking for a parking space, I called Marta just to let her know we were nearby.  However, when I called her to advise we will see her in 5-10mins (walking time) I managed to work out that she had sent us an email to cancel as something had come up and a viewing wouldn't be possible.  Not a problem though it gave us some extra touring time in La Carlota, we managed to re-trace our steps and found the house, so gave the area a thorough look and then went into La Carlota itself for lunch.  Parked up it was very warm so only T-shirts were required, whilst walking found several smaller streets with some really nice little boutiques and other shops hidden at the side off the main street.  We stopped at a traditional Tapas (small dishes of food) bar, ate and drank very well for a family of five for Euros 21.40.  Ethan is getting more confident in his Spanish - he tried asking for a jug of water, and came back with a glass - well at least he got water!

We were there before the schools closed, and after which was good to notice the differences.  The walked up the centre promenade to digest our food and back to the car, leaving La Carlota about 5pm.  Stopped at a Mercadona for top up of provisions and a nice ice cream, even the supermarket was quite.  Leaving this early meant we arrived at Las Nuevas just after sunset.

Already had some Pasta salad left in the fridge so didn't have to good, which left time for a little sit down before putting the kids to bed.

Later Paul and I discussed how much happier we BOTH felt at choosing to stick to our decision in searching for our home in South of Cordoba.  Aaaah relief a box ticked.
