I know it’s a bit boring but, SUNSHINE AGAIN! And best of all our baby girl’s 7th Birthday. The tension has been building up for days, even from Aston and Ethan!
We didn’t have internet so it was going to have to be a quick call to Grandma’s, but we decided to have lunch a local Tapas. We have made a family rule that we have to try every Tapas in La Carlota, not in the same day though. Well the kids definitely were up for that challenge.
We arrived at Meson in the main street, with tables outside under a gazebo for SUN protection….(sorry).
Fish seemed to be the fashion of the day so decided with all the other veggie dishes to have a pescados fritos. Fried fish plata – but it was seafood as well. Baby octopus, squid rings, squid tentacles, calamari, white fish and something else in a conical shape. A healthy meal followed by a big slab of triple chocolate tart. And it also seems to be a custom in many of the tapas bars where you have a full meal to serve you with a syrup type of liqueur – and an apple non alcoholic one for the kids, which is delicious. The one I tried was a Speciality from another town in Cordoba Province called Mollina, bit strong for me though, but Aston helped himself to a sip just before we caught him – that boy’s cunning sometimes!
A good time was had by all, although there was a little remorse from Corrine, she missed the normal intoxication of pressies from Grandma and Grandpa. And not having her friends around her too, but we reminded her that it’s not all about presents, but Grandma is sending a courier to us!! I hope we have the room!
Early night, off to Cordoba in the morning, armed and definitely determined for a positive outcome.
